Procrastination
The benefits of this bonding exercise are that it will help you identify self-doubt in your child as a cause of procrastination. You can increase flexible thinking by helping your child build their self-confidence. It can be as simple as saying “just get started one step at a time.” As you manage your own frustration and anxiety you can increase positive interactions with your child.

When are you most bothered by your child’s procrastination?
Focusing on a specific problem rather than a global problem may reduce learned helplessness which is a risk factor for depression. For example there may be benefits for trying to solve for a specific symptom of ADHD rather than solving a global problem such as ADHD as an all encompassing diagnosis. It may also be a specific time of day or task that is most disruptive for your child.
